Police officer Nicola Hughes’s funeral

Photo essay of the ceremony in Manchester today, which concerned the first of the two murdered police officers. The funeral procession moved slowly up closed-off Deansgate to Manchester Cathedral where a service took place, and people gathered on the grass outside Urbis to listen. Following that pallbearers brought Nicola’s coffin back to the hearse, which then returned down Deansgate.
