I’m based in Manchester, and provide vibrant, high quality portrait, corporate and commercial photography and videography throughout the UK. Work began in local and regional news in 2007, and now my client base ranges from local SMEs, to global blue chip companies, to cherished arts organisations.
On my first job in news, the feedback was ‘It’s a news story. Take this picture again and make sure there’s a human in it.’ It’s a command I remember on every job, even now. News often runs on a single picture which has to tell the entire story, and successful work shows an experience that the viewer resonates with. The same goes for moving image; always be intentional, always be telling a story.
No matter the brief, I always aim for content that I and my clients can be proud of, and so much of that happens before shoot day. You can expect a long series of detailed questions down the phone when you book me - collaboration and communication are elements of the job I really value.
I’m a natural people person and am often engaged in personal portrait and video projects. I was top 5 shortlisted in the Spotlight Awards for a portrait of an end of life carer- my father’s, in fact. I’ve also appeared in national press and featured in Volume 7 of the British Journal of Photography’s ‘Portrait of Britain’ for my project at Princes Road Synagogue, a series about a 150 year old institution and the volunteers who look after it.
